Trip Highlights & Description
If you are up for a good workout with lots of steady climbing and spectacular scenery then you will appreciate this run. And riding gondola on the way down won’t feel like cheating but rather like a smart move to save your knees for future adventures.
After meeting at your hotel, or somewhere in Whistler Village, we will hike about 15min to warm up before we reach a more gentle trail. For the next 1.5-2h we will be working our way up a steady and mostly runnable climb to gain 1000 m in about 12 km. Once we reach Singing Pass there will be wide open beautiful meadows all around us.
From here on, we will be running on a broad shoulder covered in grasses and alpine flowers, with views of rugged peaks and networks of glaciers in every direction. This is a truly spectacular section to stop for photos and switch to hiking so we can look around and absorb it all.
The last hour will be spend going up and down on more technical trails than before. Upon reaching our finish at the restaurant on Whistler Mountain we will be ready for ice cream, beer or an espresso. Then hollaa up on the scenic gondola ride down!
